Some are calling him a hero. He says he just wanted to go back to Iraq and "get back on the horse again." ABC newsman Bob Woodruff returned to Iraq earlier this week for the first time since he was nearly killed in a roadside blast in 2006.
As the news spread throughout the United States , L. Thomas Hiltz and his wife, Francine, made a generous donation of $150,000 to Bob's foundation, ReMIND.org. Bob's trip to Iraq has sparked a new wave of donations and awareness through Twitter, furthering the ReMIND message that this is about the Warrior, not the war. Hiltz says he made the generous donation "to recognize and applaud Bob's trip back to Iraq and to honor those who are serving and those who have come home wounded."
With Bob back in Iraq , Hiltz is part of a new wave of donations to the Woodruff Foundation. The foundation gives desperately-needed resources and support to injured service members, veterans and their families, building a movement to empower communities nationwide to take action to successfully reintegrate our nation's injured heroes. It especially helps those who have sustained the Hidden Injuries of War integrate back into their communities so they may thrive physically, psychologically, socially and economically.
